National Geographic sells its soul to Shell Oil

If you can read this without being completely disgusted, you need to get a new gut:

Nations with territory in the Arctic, where temperatures are warming four times faster than the global average, could be the biggest winners by far. National Geographic News

"Sells its soul" may overstate a tad. It's feature-style reporting, with an edge of gush (I mean, "style") to convey the excitement of the predators conspiring to be the winners (at what cost to every other living thing?). I will certainly agree that it's no fun to read.

Wherever they've gone, the oil companies have left environmental disasters. Here Shell wants to drill with no viable spill plan. What does this say to us? That we are idiots!
