Alan Grayson refuses to back down and apologize to foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthal Republicans

Rachel Maddow, whom I greatly admire, really got bogged down in Grayson's use of the word "holocaust" to describe the over 44,000 Americans who die every year due to lack of health insurance.  Boy, she sure does not get it.  The word "holocaust" existed long before WWII, and it is also used to describe what occurred in Cambodia, which is little mentioned, I guess because those who died there were yellow-skinned foreigners instead of Europeans.  The insistence that the word "holocaust" cannot be used unless it describes the Nazi terror is an insult to the millions who died in Cambodia (IMNSHO).  They were human beings, too!

If nearly 45,000 Americans are dying each year due to lack of health insurance, then that is a holocaust.  And it is particularly a holocaust because it is avoidable.  Let's not even discuss the people who lose their homes or have to declare bankruptcy due to medical bills.  After all, if they are not rich, well, that's just too bad.  It was probably their fault in the first place.  So, you see, we don't even have to think about them cuz they deserved it for being so poor and stupid in the first place. God forbid we should have to shell out our hard-earned money for the poor.  Oh, wait a minute -- didn't Jesus preach that the rich should give their money to the poor?  Didn't I read that somewhere?  What was that book anyway?  Oh yeah, now I remember -- it was in the Bible.  And there was that weird story they were always trying to teach us in Sunday school -- something about a rich man and the eye of a needle -- that one really threw me.  I guess they don't teach that in Sunday school anymore.  Least ways, I sure never hear anyone talk about taking care of the less fortunate. Oh well.  But hey, it's their fault, so not to worry.

UPDATE: maybe you'd like to know why this is on a blog about climate change-- well, that would be due to the fact that the same lying liars who want to tear down Medicare and Social Security are the same lying liars who want people to think that CO2 does not warm the atmosphere.
