Chasing Ice, James Balog's award-winning documentary of melting glaciers around the world

This Thursday at 6 pm, there will be a special screening of the new climate change documentary “Chasing Ice,” sponsored by Congressman Jared Polis and Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, at the Capitol Visitors Center. Director Jeff Orlowski will be there to introduce the film, which chronicles the efforts of National Geographic photographer James Balog to document the dramatic melting of glaciers around the globe.

Traveling with a team of young adventurers across the brutal Arctic, Balog risks his career and his well-being in pursuit of the biggest story facing humanity. As the debate polarizes America, and the intensity of natural disasters ramps up globally, “Chasing Ice” depicts a heroic photojournalist on a mission to deliver fragile hope to our carbon-powered planet.

I hope you and your staff will be able to join us for a screening of this important film. Should you have any questions, please contact Paula DuPré Pesmen at paula@thechange.beor visit http://www.chasingice.com/.

If you plan to attend, please arrive in time to clear security (and review the list of prohibited items).
