Eyewitness report from Hit the Production arrests in Copenhagen, December 13, 2009

As reported, the police prevented a non-violent demonstration taking place in the port today as part of the Hit the Production demonstration -- most of the people on the demonstration were arrested and the vehicle carrying the sound system impounded.
About 300 people took part in the demonstration that marched from the Triangle towards the port up Folke Bernadottes Alle where when they reached the t-junction where they would have turned left into the port they were headed off by police who proceeded to impound the vehicle carrying the sound system. After the driver of the vehicle refused to fully wind down her window, the police smashed the window, although we are unsure if the driver was at that point removed. They then proceeded to rip wooden panneling off from the back of the vehicle and then pull people off it. The vehicle and sound system was then removed by police from the scene.
Following this, about 100-150 demonstrators who had been kettled by the police were told that they would just be searched by them. However about 5-10 minutes later the police then said that they would arrest everyone there. At this point there was a tussle with the police as people in the kettle panicked. But a demonstrator then told everyone to sit down, which they then did.
The police then forced all the press from the scene and prodeeded to arrest all of the kettled-in demonstrators, cable-tying their hands together and loading them one-by-one onto coaches that were arriving to take them away.
