“The video has since been reviewed by a number of US copyright experts and (big surprise) there appears to be nothing that could be construed as anything but fair use.”
Global warming denier uses the DMCA to silence a critic
Well, the video must have been really on target — it stung Anthony Watts so badly that he initiated a DMCA “takedown” action and got the “Watts Up With Watts” video removed from youtube.com!

Tenney, do you plan to comment the (quite new) disapperance of sea ice in the West Ellesmere area (Queen Elisabeth)? I think there was some old and thick ice there these last years, not free water !!
ReplyDeleteHi Fred! How was Iceland? I see that you escaped the jaws of famished polar bears.
ReplyDeleteIf I recall correctly (always a question), a very old ice shelf broke away from Ellesmere last year or the year before. I think it was believed to have been there a good 3,000 years or more.
I will see if I can dig up some old MODIS Rapidfire satellite images of that particular area.
Anyway, that entire area of old ice broke away from the Canadian archipelago last year. Lots of it went out by Svalbard. The remnants are such a small percentage of total ice extent now.
And, of course the ice arch north of the Nares Strait is pouring through to the south very rapidly.
I don't think anyone expected such a rapid wipeout of the old ice, but we are witnessing it now.
I will see what I can find.
