I started out at uni in chemistry, but later switched to many other subjects, finally doing two undergraduate and two master's degrees in business and finance, and spent 3 years working on a PhD in finance (not completed).

I have spent 23 years outside the U.S. (2 in Greece, 7 in The Netherlands, and 14 in Brazil). I am now back in the States.

Certainly the countless hours spent producing this blog over the years might otherwise have been spent on making a better income.

If you are reading Roy Spencer's blog, then you are likely absorbing a great deal of misinformation.

I read a great many more articles on climate science and policy than appear on my blog. I do not have the time to post all that I consider relevant.

Over the years, I have come to know several climate scientists. Your impression of Dr. Kevin Trenberth could not be more wrong.

And, obviously, you have been led down the garden path with regard to "incoming solar radiation."

I have no ideology when I choose what articles to post here. I go where the science is taking me. Real science. Roy Spencer is a sad case. I don't have time to go into all the things that he gets wrong, but he is not credible.

When I first began this blog back in 2007, my goal was to get the science out to the larger public. I suppose am still doing that.

When I began, the blog was lucky to get 6 hits per day. Now, depending on how much I post, page views are between 1,000 and 2,000 per day. If there is a major event, pages views can go north of 3,000 per day.

Every time I grow weary of this work, someone sends me an e-mail and tells me they read the blog first thing every morning or some such encouragement.

Mack, the science grows ever more grim. The economics grow ever more risky.

I have a daughter. I continue to do this in the somewhat unrealistic hope that it will decrease her risk of having a catastrophic future. That is the only "ideology" I have.

Take care,

Tenney (oh, and I always use my real name, and I prefer it that way, and I find it makes my life easier, not harder.)Tenney Naumerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11843130378338023902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579549341020421678.post-61489364692857507782014-05-27T06:26:29.162-05:002014-05-27T06:26:29.162-05:00Tenny,
I owe you an apology. Having come to your ...Tenny,
I owe you an apology. Having come to your site for the first time I thought I'd come to a big american (well I suppose you are american) ;) site manned by an army of journalists and contributors,.such was the prodigious amount of articles which hits you at the opening page.
But here I scroll down to the bottom of the page and I discover you are one little Brazilian lass
doing this all by yourself.
And you've been going for so long.! this really is a mammoth effort. but does it come a some cost? Have you become "locked in"
to this blog such that it has taken over your life. Does there come a point where because of some ideology or perversity you've become afraid to know or find out the truth, I could understand this. I sit here in anonymity while you have put yourself out there in public so it has to be difficult. Added to this is the subject itself. It's extremely upsetting, going to a persons fundamental core beliefs..can Man affect the climate? It challenges your whole relevance in the scheme of things.
Having said all this..I would suggest it would be of benefit to you to read my link. I'm not ignorant of science Tenney. in fact my whole life revolved around science. If you get to my age Tenney there reaches a point where science just becomes science and you can see through and past it.
But here's hoping you take some time off the blog and read my one comment here and the links...
http://www.3news.co.nz/Interview-Chuck-Kennicutt-and-Gary-Wilson/tabid/1348/articleID/340749/Default.aspx
All the best for your future
Kind regards,
Mack.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579549341020421678.post-32275612395821609732014-05-25T12:29:06.493-05:002014-05-25T12:29:06.493-05:00Wow, Mack, you are really ignorant of the science,...Wow, Mack, you are really ignorant of the science, aren't you!

So sorry for you, and your anger.

Must be very unpleasant to be you.Tenney Naumerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11843130378338023902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579549341020421678.post-41325543020291507672014-05-23T23:55:46.798-05:002014-05-23T23:55:46.798-05:00You staff here at Climate Change the Next Generati...You staff here at Climate Change the Next Generation have your blog titled up with a piece penned by Kevin Trenberth (a kiwi)
"The onus is on those who deny any connection to climate change to prove their case."
Well I've got a message for Kevin Trenberth...The case has been proven. The case has been proven that you and your sidekick Kiel have made this huge deceptive mistake of monumental proportions
in the incoming solar radiation which totally finishes off your
outdated , unreal ,crackpot "greenhouse" theory. You're a disgrace to science and NZ.
Mack.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
